Hey Infinities, today, in the era of COVID19 pandemic, the whole world is once again praying for the prayer of Buddha's refuge.
Once again the consciousness of 'युद्ध नहीं, बुद्ध' is awakened in the world. The Buddha always experiences the intensity of the relevance to humans worldwide. Saddened by the human suffering of disease, old age and death, 2600 years ago, when Prince Siddharth Gautam went out of the palace to find a remedy for the liberation from the slightest morbidity of human beings, he was not a Buddha. After hard penance and seclusion, when he had a 'Shaktipat' of enlightement in a meditative state under the Peepal tree (Bodhi tree) in Bodh Gaya (Bihar), he became a 'Buddha' to the prince who renounced the palace.
After attaining enlightenment, Buddha made 12 vows while dedicating his life to mankind. These were all vows. Among these, the sixth and seventh vows of the Buddha prove them even more relevant today. Buddha made the sixth vow - all the sick, the infirm, the handicapped should be perfectly healthy and those who come to my shelter will be free from disease and bereavement. In the seventh pledge, he said, I will liberate all patients, helpless people and poor people from all kinds of sufferings and pains.
In Buddhist Mahayana tradition, the seventh incarnation of Lord Buddha is the incarnation of 'Bhaishyajyaguru' in eight incarnations. 'Medicine Buddha' is also worshiped in Tibet with the recognition of Manjushri, Amitabh, Padmasambhava, etc. forms of Buddha. In the original text of the Buddha tradition, Tripitaka, the Buddha is recognized as 'Sarjikatto Anattaro', that is, a master, excellent, unique surgeon in surgery. His emergence on earth was for the welfare of mankind and to alleviate suffering. He described the conduct of religion as a way to get rid of suffering, sin and suffering.
In the Buddhist texts, there is a special mention of the glory of his healing power in every form of Lord Buddha. According to a well-known passage described in the Girimananda Sutta, a monk of the Buddha in Rajgir became seriously ill. When the second monk Anand told Lord Buddha about this, he asked for the symptoms of the monk, then made the diagnosis based on the symptoms of the disease and told that the treatment is to sit for one week with cleanliness. On doing this, on the seventh day itself, the sick monk reached the Buddha's feet after being completely healthy.
Buddhists of countries like Japan, China, Tibet, Mongolia, Vietnam etc., followers of Mahayana-Buddhist tradition, believe that only in the 'Bhaishyajyaguru' tradition of Buddhism for the treatment of many diseases only by the touch of Buddha's statue or their name, there are difficult worship-healing methods.
There are statues of Bhaishyajyaguru in many postures in the Mahayana sect. In the eighth-century world-famous Kofukuji temple in Nara city, Japan, the extremely beautiful Buddha statue is in the form of a medicine in one hand and the ground is in the touch of the land, which has man religious, spiritual, and spiritual insights found in Buddhist literature. In the same temple, in the eighth century, the sick emperor of Japan was worshiped for the health benefits. He recovered completely.
According to the ancient belief of the temple, the basis of the Buddhist medical tradition is Suryaprabha and Chandraprabha, which are the effect of rays and both are symbols of light. Recently in his address the American President has also discussed the importance of sunrise philosophy for liberation from the ill effects of corona, according to the Buddhist medical tradition. Buddha is a ray of hope for mankind in terms of misery and disaster arising out of the spread of the present corona virus.
